We are blessed. Beyond blessed. We have health, happiness, faith, and each other. Life is good, God is GREAT. More than I should, I sweat the small things. I stress over details that aren't worth it. I worry that Parker got in bed 10 minutes too late. I worry he didn't eat enough for dinner. I worry that I didn't plan enough activities with him through the week. I worry that I don't set a good enough example. Its human nature for a mom to worry over every single aspect of her child's life. As Michael says, I'm a momma bear and my "cub" is all I care about!
At the end of the day, I shouldn't worry. Like I said, we are blessed. Parker is a happy boy, and through God's sweet grace we have been allowed to give him the things he needs for a fun life. Parenthood is crazy, you stress over single decision because they impact your child's future directly, and you strive to give them the best life possible while setting the best example. I am so thankful for everyone and everything in my life that has allowed me to give Parker a fulfilling childhood.
Thanksgiving 2012 was exceptional, but this year it was a little bit sweeter. Parker's 4th birthday fell on Thanksgiving Day. My biggest blessing of all.
We had lunch with Michael's mother and stepfather at their new house. It was a great day. Parts of Michael's family that we haven't seen in so long were able to come celebrate with us. Nana and Papa Adams house is on a large piece of land. This allowed for four-wheeler rides.... Which, is music to Parker's ears! After lots of eating and four wheeler rides we headed to Papa Junes to celebrate with the Bedwell Family.
We had Thanksgiving Dinner with the Bedwell Family. Our family is large, but we are all so close. We have a lot to be thankful for. Holidays are still tough without our sweet Nanny there, but we know she would want us to carry on the tradition as if she were.
Thanksgiving celebration for the Stone family was held after Thanksgiving Day. With so many people and family meals to fit in on one day we had to postpone. But, you can thankful anyday! While growing up The Stone family had 4 grandchildren. Beth, Beverly, Kala, and myself. My how we have grown- we now have 7 great-grandchildren! Again, what a blessing!
